Chittagong has about 55 ship recycling yards.
Almost all yards have ISO 9000, 14000 and OHSAS 18000 certification and one
yard also has received Statement of Compliance for HKC compliant recycling
of ships.
They prefer tankers to all other types of vessels – the bigger the better.
Can Recycle about 3.0 – 4.0 million MT LDT annually.
